About Us

Creating Wellness

Husband-and-wife duo, Alex and Alexis, are mental health therapists, business partners, and adventure-seekers who traded their cosmopolitan DC life for life on the road—renovating neglected homes into eco-friendly wellness retreats while exploring the best food stops across America.

From the rugged wilderness of West Virginia to the sun-soaked deserts of California, they work under tight deadlines and even tighter budgets to transform forgotten spaces into restful short and mid-term rentals that promote relaxation and renewal.

But their passion for restoration doesn’t stop at homes—on the road, they dive into another kind of transformation: discovering hidden food gems, meeting local makers, and uncovering the rich stories behind the places they visit. Their travels fuel their creativity, inspiring design choices rooted in culture, sustainability, and community connection.

Blending DIY renovation, wellness design, and culinary exploration, Alex and Alexis bring a fresh, hands-on approach to creating feel-good spaces—whether it’s a home, a plate of food, or the open road itself. Follow their journey as they flip homes, share budget-friendly DIY tips, and uncover the best eats along the way.

A Road Trip Through America’s Best Bites & Hidden Stories!

Husband-and-wife duo Alex and Dr. Alexis take viewers on a cross-country road trip to uncover America’s most unforgettable food experiences—but this isn’t just about the bites. With their backgrounds in psychology, sociology, and human connection, they explore how food shapes culture, identity, and community, meeting the people behind the plates and uncovering the hidden stories that make each meal more than just a dish.

Each episode is part food discovery, part road trip adventure, and part cultural deep dive—because every meal has a story, and every road trip has a surprise.

Two Minds, One Vision

Welcome to our world, where psychology meets creativity, and wellness becomes a way of life. We’re Alex Honigman and Dr. Alexis Moreno, partners in love, life, and creating meaningful change. Together, we’re building a lifestyle brand that makes mental health and wellness practical, accessible, and inspiring for everyone.

Our Story

Our journey began through a shared connection while both working in forensic mental health. Alex was serving as a Psychiatric Social Worker at Metropolitan State Hospital, and Alexis was pursuing her doctorate in Psychology, specializing in treatment related to criminal behavior and legal cases. What started as a professional camaraderie rooted in mutual dedication to social service evolved into a meaningful and personal connection.

A shared commitment to one another and creating positive change inspired their move from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C., where Alexis began her doctoral internship at St. Elizabeths Hospital. After earning her PsyD, Alexis established Wit & Reason, a mental health consultation firm supporting leaders and teams in tech and entertainment to thrive creatively and professionally. Alex soon joined her in this meaningful endeavor, marking the beginning of their journey as both life partners and professional collaborators.

Our Differences Are Our Strengths

We come from different worlds—Alexis, with her rich Mexican heritage, and Alex, with his Jewish upbringing. Yet, we’ve discovered our differences bring us closer. These unique perspectives shape how we approach life and work, helping us connect with people from all walks of life.

As a Social Worker, Alex is driven by action and community-oriented solutions, while Alexis, as a Psychologist, dives deep into dynamics and social systems. Together, we blend our distinct styles to create a shared vision that uplifts, empowers, and transforms.

Our Vision

Our lifestyle brand is rooted in a simple yet powerful belief: mental health and wellness are for everyone. Through our two ventures—Luna de Honey and Wit & Reason—we explore all facets of well-being:

  • Luna de Honey: A celebration of home and environmental wellness. From DIY solutions to thoughtful design, we help people create spaces that support healthier, happier living.

  • Wit & Reason: The intellectual heart of our work, integrating psychology into every aspect of life. Through clinical insights, education, and engaging conversations, we make mental health approachable and actionable with services and online learning. While also co-hosting an engaging DC Radio talk show, "Wit and Reason with Alex and Dr. Alexis," offering relatable advice on relationships, wellness, and personal growth.

Our goal is to promote modern relationships that break away from outdated, unhealthy dynamics. We’re here to inspire connection, creativity, and growth—in relationships, homes, and communities.

Working Together

As a couple, we’re not just building a brand—we’re building a life. The joys are endless: creating together, sharing quality time, and encouraging one another’s personal and professional growth.

But like any partnership, we’ve faced challenges. Alex’s task-oriented, action-first mindset sometimes clashes with Alexis’s detail-driven perfectionism. These differences have taught us to lean on each other’s strengths, communicate openly, and embrace the unique balance we bring to our work.

Our Lifestyle

For us, personal and professional life go hand in hand. We prioritize meaningful moments, whether it’s traveling, spending time with our animals, or simply playing a game together. Creativity, play, and connection are at the heart of our marriage—and the heart of our brand.

We believe in making space for personal time, encouraging self-care, and staying engaged with the world around us. It’s this commitment to balance that helps us stay inspired and connected, both as partners and as collaborators.

Join Us

Through Luna de Honey and Wit & Reason, we’re inviting you to join our journey. Together, we can build healthier relationships, create inspiring spaces, and redefine what wellness means in today’s world.

Follow along as we work, live, and grow—because we believe that meaningful change starts with connection, and it starts here.
